Rain's Voice

Description

Rain's voice is a pretty important aspect of her character. Being transgendered, it would not be terribly wise on her part if she used the same voice for all occasions. But it IS somewhat difficult to convey a change of voice in comic form.

My plan - the most effective method I could think of and what I've been using so far - is to simply use italics to indicate when Rain is trying to sound like a girl (as shown above). This will admittedly make up probably 90% of her dialogue for the whole story. But on the rare occasion that she needs to use her normal voice for some reason (or slips up; hey, it happens), I would use the non-italic version.

But is it too subtle, or is it just right? I want the two voices to be easily distinguishable from each other, while still being legible and not distracting. And even though I've been using this method for two dozen pages now, I would like input on this before it's actually posted so I can keep things consistent. I'm entirely willing to go back and fix it to something else if this is not clear for most people.

So, please comment so I know. ^_^
