I called it, I totally called it! *pats self on back*
Seriously, though, this page heralds the return of everyone's favorite model couple, Emily and Chase. You remember them, right? The high-strung one with a superiority complex and a vendetta against Rain, and the surprisingly wealthy one who gives alcohol to (and dates) minors? Ah, they're so much fun to have around... And yes, I do get the feeling they don't get along well. I have to wonder, why are they together? They're different in so many ways, and neither one appears to need the other. Is it one of those perverse situations where their incompatibility somehow keeps them together?
As for the actual content of their conversation, I have to wonder whether Chase actually was interested in Rain. I mean, he would only be the SIXTH character to show some potential romantic interest in her (and that's ignoring all the love letters she received on day one). On the other hand, Emily's accusation may just come from her feelings of frustration and jealousy toward Rain, over her being the center of attention (albeit unintentionally). I get the feeling that this antagonism against Rain is something that's going to stay strong throughout much of the story. Chase's justification for bringing out the alcohol cements my perception of him as a mischiefmaker; he wanted to make the party more "fun", and that somehow supercedes the fact that he a) broke the law, b) ended up ruining the party for Rain and Rudy, and c) is responsible for Randy's second stain! Yes, Chase is reckless, and he doesn't think things through... but I still really like him (especially after his "husky girl" comment, hah hah!).
