Poor, little Ryan.

Let it be said, that I’ve read MANY webcomics in my time. And I have at least a dozen times seen a point in which the author attempts to put some serious moments into their otherwise “joke of the day” comic for the purpose of directing the story. There are always a few understanding people who want to see where the author will take this direction (like me). But I’ve noticed some people actually get bent out of shape over it too “because it’s not what they’re reading the comic for”.

So, let me get this out of the way right now: Rain IS a comedy, but it’s also a drama. Just as in life, sometimes there won’t always be a punchline. (And then, sometimes the joke is in the middle of the page rather than the bottom. I like to spice it up, you see.)

Oh, and I'm not sure if this is obvious or not, so I'd like to add that the woman is "Ryan's" mother. The other kids are older siblings.

I actually wanted to be a princess when I was younger. I was told to aim for prince. Then I aimed for queen to be more ambitious but it was meant to be king. Unfortunately the next 13 years of my life would see that completely suppressed and it wasn’t until 2019 when I rediscovered it. I feel like my childhood could have been so much more.
